1. Brock Lesnar Defeats Kofi Kingston To Become The New WWE Champion

If Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon don’t main event the show, this match certainly will. It almost seems like a foregone conclusion that Brock Lesnar will end Kofi Kingston’s six-month title reign to become the new WWE Champion.

However, if Lesnar and Kingston do not main event the show, this match will come with some caveats. At the start of Raw, Brock Lesnar unexplainably attacked Rey Mysterio and his son, Dominick.

This attack was rumored to trigger a future fight with former MMA fighter Cain Velasquez, who had defeated Brock Lesnar at one point to become UFC Heavyweight Champion. With rumors of Velasquez signing with the WWE, the rumor may hold some truth.

Nonetheless, although Mysterio is known for turning the other cheek, he does not take things too lightly when others hurt his family. In order to avenge what Lesnar did, Mysterio could always force a disqualification finish to this match, thereby helping Kingston retain the WWE Championship.

This could then lead to a match between Mysterio and Lesnar at Hell in a Cell. Meanwhile, Kingston can defend his championship against former number one contender and current captain of Team Flair, Randy Orton, because this rematch was rumored to occur at HIAC a long time ago.

With Team Hogan being captained by Universal Champion Seth Rollins, Team Flair would want to be captained by a top champion as well. This could be a sign that Orton is dethroning Kingston at HIAC, rather than Lesnar.

Besides, why end Kingston’s first WWE Championship reign end on a SmackDown? It’s understandable that Fox would want Brock to be their top guy and end their first show with a bang, but wouldn’t a PPV be more suitable to end such an illustrious reign for a fighting champion?

Nonetheless, if none of these scenarios happen to keep the championship on Kingston, Lesnar will inevitably dethrone Kingston to become the face of a more sports-oriented show and most likely retain the championship in a rematch against Kingston at Hell in a Cell. Whether conclusive or inconclusive, Lesnar should be the safe bet to win this match and still battle Kingston at Hell in a Cell.
