It’s no secret that Asuka is one of the best wrestlers in the world. Now, WWE looks like they finally realize that again too.

In the matter of just two days, it seems like WWE finally came upon the realization that they were wasting a generational talent by not having Asuka on TV.

At least that’s the scenario that makes the most sense to me when you take a look at the meteoric rise of “The Empress of Tomorrow” after being an afterthought on TV for weeks on end.

Asuka went from cultivating a budding YouTube career on the proverbial sidelines to one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions in one show, without any build. To top it off, she turned heel as well, a character change which many fans have been clamoring for since her exceptional run as a villain in NXT.

That alone would be reason to believe that WWE might finally have a plan for fully tapping into Asuka’s potential once again, something which we arguably haven’t seen done in over a year now.

WWE didn’t just stop there though. On Raw, Asuka seemingly kicked off a feud with Becky Lynch by using her new green mist finisher to help her Kabuki Warriors partner, Kairi Sane, pick up the roll-up victory in their tag match.

After the match, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross ran some interference too, clearly setting up a rematch for the Women’s Tag Team Championships down the road.

In other words, Asuka went from barely being on TV, to becoming a world champion and entering into two high-profile rivalries over the course of just two days. Oh yeah, and she added one of the coolest finishers in WWE to repertoire too.

Now that’s impressive.

Let’s just hope WWE is willing to continue to devote the time needed to build Asuka and Kairi Sane up over the coming weeks. There’s still so much story left here to tell, from establishing a clear reason for why The Kabuki Warriors turned heel to Becky Lynch’s history of coming up short against Asuka.

That’s without even mentioning the rivalry for the Women’s Tag Team Titles, which could actually be presented in a high-profile feud for the first time in months.

Next. A good story may have been buried in Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt at Hell in a Cell. dark

All that’s to say that we should all be thankful that WWE looks like they finally got the reality check they needed about Asuka, and Kairi Sane for that matter too. The women’s division is looking more exciting than ever now that The Kabuki Warriors are finally getting the push they so clearly deserve.
