WWE: 5 up-and-coming stars primed for a breakout after the draft

The WWE Draft brought with it some surprise selections that could be an indicator of big things to come for several of the company’s brightest rising stars.

Another WWE Draft has come and gone.

This time, although the draft lacked a lot of the pizzazz that makes these things fun to watch, it brought quite a lot of interesting and surprising changes.

While a lot of the premier roster changes were easy to predict, albeit still interesting, there were multiple unexpected and surprising picks across the board.

These picks could go a long way towards creating some new stars in WWE, or just giving some stars already on the rise that extra push needed to cement them in the main event.

Either way, it certainly seems like WWE made an important statement about which rising stars are going to be a point of emphasis going forward, based on their draft position.

From the completely unexpected to the finally appreciated, here’s 5 up-and-coming superstars who appear primed for a breakout based on the WWE Draft.

5. Humberto Carrillo

You would be forgiven if this was the only name you didn’t know from the WWE Draft results. Once you see him in the ring though, I can promise it’s a name you won’t forget.

Humberto Carrillo is a thrilling superstar who already can rival the likes of Ricochet and Rey Mysterio with his aerial acrobatics.

Carrillo has burst onto the WWE scene in 2019 with a bang by bringing that entertaining style to both NXT and 205 Live. Now, however, it looks like he’s going to be making his way to Monday Night Raw, as he was a third round pick in the second night of the draft.

Although Carrillo is going to need to build up a character and rapport with the main roster audience, his incredible athleticism should make him a superstar to watch from day one.

Let’s hope WWE continues to recognize Carrillo’s immense potential, and helps him to truly develop into a star on Raw.
