WWE: 5 up-and-coming stars primed for a breakout after the draft
By Brett Grega
2. Liv Morgan
If you look at the Raw women’s division based on the two nights of the draft, it certainly appears like there’s room for a new star to emerge in singles competition.
Enter Liv Morgan.
Sure, there’s tag teams like The Kabuki Warriors and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross who could split off to enter into world title feuds with Becky Lynch, but Liv Morgan is one of the few actual single competitors right now on the brand.
Aside from Natalya and Charlotte Flair, both of whom have already taken several shots at dethroning Becky Lynch, Liv Morgan is therefore the name that jumps out as a potential challenger for Becky Lynch sooner rather than later.
Although we haven’t seen Morgan since her dramatic departure in July, the timing appears ripe for her return.
Lynch is without a full-fledged challenger for the Raw Women’s Championship, besides a potential rivalry with one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, meaning Morgan has a fairly clear path straight into the title picture ala Lacey Evans.
Before the draft, I broke down some of the reasons why Morgan seems primed to shine in that spotlight, but the highlights bear repeating.
Morgan has already shown off an improving move-set in WWE, along with an undeniable charisma that’s just plain hard to teach. She’s got a sizable fan following as a result, and the hype around her return is starting to grow by the day based off of her social media teasers.
Liv Morgan has what it takes to be a real force on the main roster, and hopefully her selection in the draft means that WWE feels the same way.
