WWE: 3 major questions that need answered after the draft
By Brett Grega
2. What’s next for Erick Rowan and Luke Harper?
Arguably one of the most puzzling decisions from the WWE Draft, at least when it came to tag teams, was the breaking up of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan’s partnership.
For those of you who might be unaware that the pair of former Bludgeon Brothers have split, Luke Harper was moved to SmackDown in a rather unceremonious announcement on WWE.com.
With Erick Rowan on Raw, this almost assuredly marks the end to their partnership, however brief it may have been this time.
After having them featured prominently as a team across two pay-per-views though, what was the reasoning behind breaking them up?
Sure, they don’t need each other to make an impact, but their respective storylines would probably have benefitted from some added time together.
Erick Rowan could have still used the excuse of having Harper interfere in order to ensure he won some big matches, while the losing party remained strong.
On the other hand, Luke Harper really hasn’t been characterized much after his return to WWE TV. He’s just been Rowan’s henchman, ironically, which means he needs to basically start from scratch now that he’s been shuffled away to a different brand.
Hopefully, however, WWE intends to find a way to keep both former Wyatt Family members looking strong on their respective brands, awkward draft moves aside.
Rowan has already proven that he can be a main event level force in WWE, and Harper has shown some very promising signs during his own singles run leading up to WrestleMania 31.
Both superstars should be major players on their brands. Their futures just largely remain a giant question mark for now until we get to see what WWE might have planned for them.
