This week’s episode of WWE Raw featuring some fantastic matches, but botched the landing with a terrible Divorce Court segment at the end of the night.

WWE Raw descended upon St. Louis this week, and we got a show that was surprisingly good. As a matter of fact, the majority of the show was top-notch with nothing but good segments and matches, only for it to completely crash with a terrible ending.

That ending happened to be the Divorce Court segment with Lana and Rusev hosted by Jerry “The King” Lawler, to the surprise of probably no one who heard about this heading into WWE Raw. However, before we get to that wreck, let’s look at the rest of this fantastic episode.

Paige introduces The Kabuki Warriors

The night’s opening segment started off with me rolling my eyes all the way back into my head. As great as it was to see Paige back on Raw, her immediately bringing up The Kabuki Warriors seemed to indicate she’d be their mouthpiece again.

It was rough to see the impression that, rather than allowing them to continue to cut fantastic promos in Japanese, they’d been given back their English-speaking mouthpiece. Thankfully, my frustration didn’t last.

Paige tried to introduce and take a little credit for helping The Kabuki Warriors along the way, but Asuka and Kairi both snatched the microphone away from her. The tension bubbled up and Asuka hit Paige with a green mist, effectively solidifying the heel turn of The Kabuki Warriors and separating them from Paige.

The Kabuki Warriors continued to lurk over Paige and looked like they might continue their attack, but Becky Lynch made the save and brawled with them at ringside heading into the first commercial break.

Grade: A+, There might’ve been no better way to do this. They addressed the Paige situation, safely attacked her to remove her from the group, and made everyone look amazing.

WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Kairi Sane (Non-Title)

The opening match on WWE Raw saw Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch in non-title action against one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. As was put on display before the match, The Kabuki Warriors were about as full heel as they could get tonight.

Kairi Sane didn’t have her traditional pirate props, but instead a parasol and new gear which was much darker than her recent attire. This newfound attitude carried into the match, and Kairi was ready to take any needed advantage throughout the contest.

Whether that meant Asuka making her presence felt on the outside, or simply trying to be opportunistic inside the ring, Kairi Sane gave Becky Lynch everything she had. After a really quality opener, Becky Lynch finally slapped on the Dis-arm-her to bring things to a close.

Grade: A, Easily one of the best openers we’ve seen on Raw in some time. This was a pay-per-view quality contest that saw Kairi Sane really put on display as a heel, with Becky Lynch still picking up a strong win at the end.
