R-Truth vs. Buddy Murphy

Before the match, R-Truth was interviewed about his WWE 24/7 Championship reigns, at which point Truth seemed excited to confirm that there are indeed two Singh Brothers, and that Buddy Murphy is not his buddy. Murphy interrupted and exchanged a few words of his own about being overlooked by Truth before the match finally got rolling.

The match itself was short but fun. Truth got some offense in early and both men traded the momentum back and forth. That all changed when a train of superstars chasing WWE 24/7 Champion Sunil Singh entered the arena and started circling the ring.

The train, which included both Singh Brothers, No Way Jose, Eric Young, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, and Mojo Rawley, circled around the ring and was quickly joined by R-Truth. As the count of ten rang out, Truth continued to chase as a part of the train, before finally sliding into the ring around the count of eight, only to eat a stiff knee from Buddy Murphy that ended things right there.

Grade: B, Solid short match here that showcased Murphy without damaging Truth, and kept the WWE 24/7 Championship in the conversation.

AOP cut another backstage promo

While it was still well done and effectively intimidating, another backstage promo from AOP still felt like more of the same. We’ve seen a lot of these from AOP, and they’re starting to feel like killing time before we actually see them debut. This wasn’t bad, but it didn’t feel new or especially interesting.

Grade: B, Not bad, but not special or unique enough.

Street Profits cut an in-ring promo

We got a solid in-ring segment with Street Profits, who are fresh off a victory in their WWE Raw debut last week. Dawkins and Ford were as hyped as always, and the crowd was happy to chant “We Want The Smoke” as much as they possibly could.

Much like the AOP promo, this wasn’t bad, but felt a bit without purpose and didn’t advance anything. Street Profits hit their usual lines before dancing out through the crowd while chanting “We Want The Smoke” along with their theme music.

Grade: B, Not bad, but didn’t really do much.

Drew McIntyre vs. Ricochet

To hype their involvement in this Thursday’s Saudi Arabia Blood Money event, Drew McIntyre of Team Flair took on Ricochet of Team Hogan. Despite the terrible pretenses and circumstances surrounding things, Ricochet and McIntyre had a really solid match on WWE Raw.

After some early back and forth, McIntyre took control of the momentum and started to seriously wear down on Ricochet. More than once, we saw the action spill to the outside and McIntyre utilize his environment to wear down “The One and Only.”

McIntyre later hit a Hogan-esque leg drop in the ring, quickly sliding out to stare down Hogan and make it clear he was sending a message to the man once released by WWE due to a racist tirade caught on tape who was eventually reinstated.

Back from a commercial break, Ricochet countered a huge Razor’s Edge Buckle Bomb attempt by McIntyre with a hurricanrana to regain some sense of momentum and keep himself in the fight. McIntyre later regained control, looking for a Claymore to end it, but Ricochet countered it with an enziguri.

Moments later, Randy Orton appeared to deliver an RKO “outta nowhere” to Ricochet in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Ricochet took the disqualification win, but Orton and McIntyre got the last laugh and stood tall heading into Thursday.

Grade: B+, This was a really good match that, even with the shenanigans, still had a fun finish. Both McIntyre and Ricochet looked impressive.
