Ricochet vs. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Rey Mysterio [Fatal 4 Way United States Championship #1 Contender’s Match]

The babyfaces Ricochet and Rey Mysterio utilize their high flying maneuvers to take out Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre early on in the match. However, Orton and McIntyre eventually catch up with them. Randy Orton slides Mysterio abdomen first outside the ring.

The heels Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre then team up on Ricochet in the ring. Mysterio gets back in the ring to help Ricochet but Orton delivers an uppercut to Mysterio and McIntyre tosses Mysterio back outside the ring.

Orton and Ricochet then refocus on Ricochet, but Ricochet rallies back with a running dropkick to McIntyre. Orton stops Ricochet with a Scoop Slam. Mysterio then bounces off the ropes for an aerial meteora to Orton and a side rope crossbody to McIntyre.

Mysterio then focuses on Ricochet on the top rope, but Ricochet retaliates and punches Mysterio off the top rope. McIntyre gets on the top rope with Ricochet, but Ricochet counters McIntyre as well as he remains hanging in a tree of woe at the corner turnbuckle. Mysterio gets back on the top rope with Ricochet, but Orton quickly gets back into the ring and pushes Ricochet off the top rope.

Orton then grabs Mysterio for a Superplex. However, McIntyre, who is still hanging in a tree of woe, gets back up in an upright position and grabs and suplexes Orton as all three men go tumbling down to the center of the ring.

The O.C. then appear at ringside to get a closer eye at this match. Back from commerical, McIntyre and Ricochet are in the ring. Ricochet hits a picture perfect dropkick to McIntyre. Orton comes in the ring and grabs Ricochet for a Hanging DDT from the ropes for a two-count as McIntyre breaks it up.

McIntyre and Orton have a stare off in the ring, share some words, and deliver some knife edge chops to each other. Orton then thumbs McIntyre in the eye to get the upper hand, but McIntyre retaliates with the Glasglow Kiss. Ricochet then jumps off the ropes to hit a flying clothesline to McIntyre and standing Shooting Star Press for the two-count.

Ricochet drop kicks Mysterio off the apron and runs into an Alabama Slam by McIntyre. Ricochet counters the Alabama Slam into a roll up attempt, but McIntyre kicks out and hits a powerbomb to Riocochet for the two-count. McIntyre then signals for the Claymore. Before McIntyre could strike Ricochet with his signature maneuver, Randy Orton runs into the ring with an RKO to McIntyre.

Orton pins McIntyre, but Gallows and Anderson pull Orton’s leg to stop the count. Rey Mysterio then bungee jumps off the ropes to hit a meteora to Ricochet but transitions it into a small package for the three-count and the win. Rey Mysterio is the official number one contender for the United States Championship, and he will battle AJ Styles NEXT!

Result: Rey Mysterio

Analysis: This victory is a great way for Mysterio to bounce back from losing his WWE Championship match to Brock Lesnar last night at Survivor Series. Decent fatal 4 way match and the best match that occurred tonight thus far.
