CM Punk has made more waves in professional wrestling after joining the “WWE Backstage” crew as a FOX employee, but it sounds like WWE also plans on using The Voice of the Voiceless on one of their Network-exclusive shows.

WWE has made a priority to keep wrestling fans as engaged as possible on their streaming service, which means debuting new shows featuring bigger names as guests.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is a titan of the industry, and his “Broken Skull Sessions” on the WWE Network has been a rousing success already. Recently, Austin interviewed another larger-than-life figure in wrestling, as he spoke to The Undertaker about a variety of deep topics, including his concussion at WrestleMania 30 in the streak-breaking match against Brock Lesnar.

According to PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson, there was “internal” talk this weekend within WWE about having Austin interview CM Punk in the future as another major guest for the show.

Punk isn’t signed to WWE and is working for FOX as a panelist on the new “WWE Backstage” show, but between all the back-and-forths shots with Seth Rollins, it feels like Punk working with WWE in a greater capacity at some point will happen.

An interview with Stone Cold, whom Punk would often pay tribute to as a character, on the WWE Network would open that door. Austin has done some incredible interviews on Network-exclusive shows, whether it’s grilling Dean Ambrose or his more amicable and fruitful discussion with The Undertaker.

A sitdown with Punk would be revealing, as Punk’s down-to-earth attitude and willingness to shake up the culture in wrestling could lead to invaluable insight. Beyond that, fans are curious to hear more about what Punk went through, since he was allegedly put through hell by the end of his tenure.

Wrestling fans have learned to never say never, and now that CM Punk is working for FOX, a possible interview with Austin is sure to turn heads, move the meter, and get more people hoping for future dream matches like Punk vs. Rollins.

Of course, what Punk decides to do is up to Punk. His happiness comes first and foremost, regardless of how much fans would like to see him wrestle again.
