WWE NXT: Results, Highlights and Grades For November 27th, 2019
Xia Li vs. Vanessa Borne
The heel, Borne, is there to avenge her friend Aliyah’s broken nose, which Li gave her awhile back. She bum rushes Li in the corner, but Li is able to evade a second shoulder block, sending Borne into the ringpost before hitting a powerbomb.
Suddenly, Shayna Baszler and her pals hit the ramp. Li hits Borne in the back of the head for a quick win to focus on Shayna and co., who hit the ring and ambush the undefeated Superstar. Li lays Baszler out with a roundhouse kick and tries her best to beat down the rest until the champ blindsides Li. The three on one advantage overwhelms Li.
Baszler grabs a mic to say she had a great weekend after beating Bayley and Becky Lynch. The crowd chant for Rhea Ripley. On cue, Ripley hits the ring to say congratulations. Though, she points out that while she beat Becky and Bayley, Ripley beat Baszler on Saturday and is confident she can do it again for the title.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Finn Balor
Main event time!
Lockup to the start. Lock up in the corner. Both men fighting for position. Balor smooshes Ciampa in the face. Ciampa shoves him until Balor locks in a headlock. Back and forth until Balor gets a rear naked choke rest hold for the commercial break.
Back from break, Ciampa is able to get back into this. Hard, loud chops to Finn’s chest, then kicks to Finn’s knee. Balor baits in Ciampa. Ciampa runs at him for a knee, but gets caught with a sling blade to the outside. He then teases a Bloody Sunday on the ramp, but Ciampa quickly turns it into an Air Raid Crush on the grate of the ramp. That didn’t look great for Balor’s neck (bah dum tsh, thank you, I’ll be here all week).
Puns aside, Ciampa makes it in the ring, but Balor gets in at a count of 9. Runs into a knee followed by Project Ciampa for a near fall.
Balor recovers with a stomp to the sternum, followed by a dropkick into the corner. He sets up a Coup De Grace from the top, but Ciampa climbs up to hit an Air Raid Crush. Two count.
Adam Cole runs down, but Ciampa drops him. Roll up for a two count. Balor fails to hit Ciampa with the title, but is able to hit a reverse 1916 on the title for a two count. Behind the ref’s back, Cole hits an enzuigiri. Balor hits Bloody Sunday for the win.
Cole and Balor staredown after the match, both wearing grins. Cole retrieves his title and does his UE pose to Ciampa. He pats Balor on the back, but retrieves a Pele Kick. Balor is the one man standing leaving the ring as we go off the air.
