WWE NXT: Results, Highlights and Grades for December 4th, 2019
Cue Undisputed Era’s music, as the whole crew (minus an injured Bobby Fish) hit the ring.
Adam Cole takes the mic to address his stables “November to remember” where they took over every brand and dominated at Survivor Series. The Undisputed Prophecy has only just begun, but doesn’t like how their efforts are thanked by getting ragdolled by Keith Lee and Fish being injured. But the biggest cardinal sin he wants to address is Finn Balor hitting him with a Pele Kick to close out NXT last week.
Cole says they refuse to leave the ring until Balor comes out to explain himself, but instead, Keith Lee comes out instead. Kyle O’Reilly calls Lee the “belle of the ball” following his star making weekend last week, but has nothing to show for it.
Lee acknowledges he’s a moment maker, but he’s also a game changer. Not only did he make Adam Cole into one of the most viewed gifs on the internet today, but he beat Undisputed Era at WarGames.
He stays silent for a moment and says he’s thinking about which of UE’s titles he wants to take first. Cole suggests he and his boys make another moment for The Limitless One by beating Lee up and ending his career. They attack the big man, but said big man takes the upper hand.
Most notably by tossing KOR into Roderick Strong as Cole escapes up the ramp, only to be blindsided by Tommaso Ciampa. Cole runs in the ring and nearly gets powerbombed by Keith Lee before Strong and KOR pull Cole out the ring for the save.
Cole’s NXT Championship is left in the middle of the ring. Interestingly enough, Lee and Ciampa both stare each other down, looking down at the title until CIampa ultimately picks up and poses with the belt.
Grade: A
Lots of foreshadowing for the future with a lot of teases for future match-ups (Keith Lee vs. Adam Cole, Keith Lee vs. anyone else in UE, Ciampa vs. Cole, maybe Ciampa vs. Lee, etc.). Made me really excited to see where all this goes from here.
Right after, we get a backstage promo from Xia Li who addresses being attacked by Shayna Baszler and her friends last week, but tonight in a non-title match against the NXT Women’s Champion, The Warrior promises to make the most out of her opportunity and lay waste to the champ.
That sends us to a commercial before our next match, but back from the break, we get a return hype package for Kushida, who’s been out for two months. He talks about using the injury to spend time with the people he fights for: his family. He says they’re the whole reason he came to America was to provide a better life for them and in returning tonight, he’ll get back on the road to do just that. Really nice, genuine promo here.
