WWE will head to Madison Square Garden for a live event over the holiday season, and they have announced a big-time steel cage match for the show.
Live events at Madison Square Garden are special for WWE fans, and any show at MSG is a big deal, even if it isn’t televised.
Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Kairi Sane, and Asuka are currently embroiled in an awesome rivalry, which took another step forward on the Dec. 2 episode of Monday Night Raw when Sane and Asuka beat Charlotte in a hard-fought two-on-one match.
Sane and Asuka are currently the Women’s Tag Team Champions, while Charlotte and Becky are gunning for the titles as a tag team. Lynch is currently the Raw Women’s Champion.
Madison Square Garden have announced on Twitter that these four women will have a steel cage match at the upcoming house show on Dec. 26, and it will be a wonderful post-Christmas gift for the fans in attendance in New York City.

This match, of course, is bringing branded as a “first time ever” Women’s Tag Team Title match inside of a steel cage. If the titles are defended in a gimmick match at the TLC Pay Per View at the Target Center in Minneapolis on Dec. 15, then they will also be involved in a “first time ever” match. The titles debuted this year at the Elimination Chamber match, when Sasha Banks and Bayley won the championships in a heart-warming moment.
Seth Rollins vs. Erick Rowan and Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley have been advertised for the show, too, per WrestlingInc.com’s Marc Middleton. Lashley and Rusev currently have a major feud in a controversial storyline and have not wrestled against each other yet. That could change at TLC.
Kairi and Aska have taken the titles to the next level in their reign after defeating Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss at Hell in a Cell. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Becky have plenty of history together as friends and rivals, and winning the tag titles would make their respective storylines in the build to WrestleMania Season all the more interesting.
But no matter what happens, this should be a match for the ages. It’s always great to see live events with loaded cards, and hopefully this steel cage match involving four of the best wrestlers on the planet main events the prestigious MSG show.
