A notable member of the National Basketball Association is anxious to join the WWE when he’s ready. In fact, he just visited the squared circle not too long ago.

Enes Kanter is recognized best by NBA fans as the center position player for the Boston Celtics (or as the guy who nearly had an impromptu wrestling match LeBron James on the court of Madison Square Garden back in 2017), but wrestling fans within the WWE Universe recognize him best as the guy who rolled up R-Truth to win the 24/7 Championship back in September.

As it turns out, the former New York Knick is a big wrestling fan and when he retires from the NBA, he hopes to transition into joining the squared circle full time.

Kanter recently spoke to the folks at TMZ Sports and said that he had actually been having recent discussions with his “good friend,” Paul Heyman, along with Triple H and Vince McMahon. All of the execs agreed that they would love to hire Kanter whenever he’s ready.

Kanter added that he hopes to continue at least “six or seven more years” in the NBA before committing to strapping on a pair of boots.

This is not the first time that Kanter has expressed an urge to wrestle for WWE, as he once mentioned in a VICE interview that he has had talks with WWE as early as 2018. Clearly, he is committed to the transition.

If Kanter does make the full jump to WWE in a few years, he joins an accomplished list of NBA players like Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone, as well as accomplished athletes like Ronda Rousey, to do so. Who knows? Maybe the ex Portland Trailblazer could shock us all and give one heck of an in-ring performance.

He certainly has the passion for the business, it seems. We’ll have to wait and see if he has just as much commitment.
