WWE releases another Superstar, this time it’s Luke Harper
In what appears to be the second of potentially many WWE Superstar releases today, now the company has come to terms with the release of Luke Harper.
It was not that long ago that we learned that WWE decided to part ways with Sin Cara. Within about a half hour time frame of each other, the company has announced yet another release from their roster. This time, WWE have granted the release of one Luke Harper after he spent six years under their umbrella.
For the past year or so, it appeared that Luke Harper was adamant about wanting to leave the WWE. Back in April, Harper released a statement on Twitter publicly announcing that he asked for his release from WWE. WWE opted not to grant Harper his release and then, several months passed where he was completely absent from WWE TV.
The former Wyatt Family member returned to television back at Clash of Champions, helping Erick Rowan defeat Roman Reigns in singles competition on the Pay-Per-View. However, within just a couple months, Harper was gone again just as fast as he came back.
This week, interestingly enough, it was reported by Ian Carey of SEScoops that Harper had applied for a trademark to the name “Brodie Lee,” the name he used on the independent circuit prior to signing with WWE.
It was assumed by fans and critics alike that he was prepping for an exit from WWE and now, that exit has happened. After six years, Luke Harper (or, maybe we should start getting used to calling him Brodie Lee again) walks away from WWE having won the Intercontinental Championship, NXT Tag Team Championship and a SmackDown Tag Team Title win at WrestleMania 34.
We wish nothing but the best of luck to him, wherever he lands next.
With two Superstars gone in the last hour, we have to wonder who’s next and when?
