SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley doesn’t have an announced opponent for the WWE TLC 2019 Pay Per View next week, but it sounds like she will face Lacey Evans.

Only three matches have been announced for the WWE TLC 2019 card, even though the show will take place next week on Dec. 15. Worse yet, none of those matches are women’s matches, as the company has been doing a poor job of building it’s women’s feuds recently.

But Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair have been advertised for a match against Asuka and Kairi Sane for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. So that should be an exciting bout if it does happen, especially since advertisements have indicated it will be a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.

According to WrestlingInc.com’s Raj Giri, Dave Meltzer recently said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Bayley is expected to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans.

Recently, Evans turned face, and she had a face-to-face confrontation with Sasha Banks on the Dec. 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. This conflict seems to open the possibility for Evans to fight for Bayley’s title, which would boost her momentum heading into 2020 if she has a strong match.

It would also give Bayley a solid opponent to beat as she continues her second reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion. Bayley’s been one of WWE’s best wrestlers in 2019 and should have a great title defense planned for WrestleMania 36.

Currently, the three announced matches for TLC are a non-title match between Bray Wyatt (not The Fiend) and The Miz, a TLC match pitting Roman Reigns against long-time foe King Corbin, and a highly-anticipated SmackDown Tag Team Title match between The New Day and The Revival.

But Evans vs. Bayley could be a show-stealer if added to the card. Bayley has looked even more motivated since turning heel, so she and Evans could give the Minneapolis crowd something extra in a title match next Sunday. Nothing is official, but this is a match that seems to make sense.
