As 2020, gets closer, there is a lot to look forward with WWE.

Every year, new talent is elevated to heights previously unaccomplished, and new champions are crowned. This article will to look forward to 2020 and look at WWE wrestlers who have never held a championship in WWE. 2020 should be the year that four of these wrestlers could get their first taste of championship gold.

Author’s note: Wrestlers such as Street Profits, Drew McIntyre, and Andrade are excluded, because they have held championships in NXT.

Mia Yim

After a star-making match with Io Shirai in NXT, the future appears to be bright for Yim. A backstage attack on Yim kept her out of the NXT WarGames show; however, she won the hearts of every NXT fan with her toughness in her match with Shirai.

Yim has previously wrestled Bayzler at a NXT Takeover event where Bayzler defeated Yim by tap out. It is likely that Rhea Ripley will win the NXT Women’s Championship from Bayzler. While it is not a 100-percent guarantee that the championship will change hands, Yim should be considered for a NXT Women’s Championship run in 2020.

No matter how Bayzler vs. Ripley ends up, Yim has developed a tremendous following due to her charisma and in-ring talent.

The story could be told in two different directions. If The Queen of Spades keeps the belt into 2020, then at NXT’s biggest Takeover of the year at WrestleMania weekend, Yim should finally win the championship. If Ripley wins the championship, then Yim and Ripley should be kept far apart for the better part of 2020, build Ripley as the champion, and tell the story of Yim defeating Ripley.

2020 should be the year that Mia Yim captures the NXT Women’s Championship.
