WWE Royal Rumble 2020: Predicting 3 Women’s Rumble winners before TLC
By Mark Justice
2.) Sasha Banks
Since returning to in-ring action and transforming her hair color, Sasha Banks has been on a PPV losing streak.
Other than winning inconclusively by disqualification in a Raw Women’s Championship match against Becky Lynch at WWE Clash of Champions 2019, she lost her matches in the three PPVs afterwards:
(1) WWE Hell in a Cell 2019: She lost to Becky Lynch in a Raw Women’s Championship match inside Hell in a Cell.
(2) WWE Survivor Series 2019: She lost to Rhea Ripley in the Women’s Survivor Series Match.
(3) WWE Starrcade 2019: She and Bayley lost to Kabuki Warriors in a Fatal Four Way Women’s Tag Team Championship match.
Although all of these matches were spectacular, it is crystal clear that Banks’ stock is dropping in the eyes of the common viewers. It is becoming more and more difficult to believe in Banks to win in high-stake situations.
The Women’s Royal Rumble is another high-stake situation, in which Banks could also fail to win as usual. However, the inner hope in the WWE fan base always awaits some swerves, and this is a swerve worth keeping in mind.
If she wins the Royal Rumble, there is a huge dilemma. She must choose between her best rival, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, and her best friend, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
If she chooses Becky Lynch, she can get her win back from WWE Hell in a Cell and cash in all of Lynch’s debt in the ‘bank.’
On the other hand, if she chooses Bayley, Banks has the opportunities to finally battle her best NXT rival on the Grandest Stage of Them All, win the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time ever, prevent Bayley from battling anyone less interesting at WrestleMania 36 and, more importantly, earn her very first victory at WrestleMania.
