WWE Royal Rumble 2020: Predicting 3 Women’s Rumble winners before TLC
By Mark Justice
1.) Ronda Rousey
As stated earlier, Shayna Baszler is not the only debt Lynch has to collect. Ronda Rousey is actually Lynch’s ‘ultimate debt’ to collect, and there are lots of ‘interest’ in that debt.
Although she did defeat Rousey to become the Raw Women’s Champion at WrestleMania 35, Lynch still has not attained a one on one championship match against Rousey. It was supposed to happen at WWE Survivor Series 2018, but Lynch got injured at the last minute following a fatal punch from Nia Jax. Lynch was then replaced in the match by Charlotte Flair.
Many fans were disappointed by this series of events because they were really looking forward to seeing Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey. When Lynch won the Royal Rumble last year, those same fans were hopeful that they were gonna finally get that match but Charlotte Flair was included in the match to make it a triple threat. As expected, this booking decision received lots of backlash.
Indeed, the WWE has found every sort of way to avoid a one on one money-making match between Rousey and Lynch, but it was probably for the better. Sometimes, it’s good to strike while the iron is hot, but on the other hand, it was also smart to build up Becky Lynch as an unstoppable Raw Women’s Champion like Ronda Rousey once was before she actually battles Rousey again.
Henceforth, Rousey should also be considered to win the Women’s Royal Rumble. It would be an amazing return for her, as well as a victory the crowd can get behind since they wanted Rousey vs. Lynch for so long.
