WWE TLC 2019 update: Kairi Sane recovering after injury scare
In light of fears that one-half of the Women’s Tag Champs suffered a concussion at WWE TLC 2019 last night, Kairi Sane is reportedly recovering well.
Last night’s WWE TLC 2019 was main evented by Asuka and Kairi Sane of The Kabuki Warriors defending their Women’s Tag Team Championship against Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
Although the champs successfully retained, there has been some concern from fans and critics that Sane may have been injured during the match.
Sane appeared to be disoriented during the main event following multiple scary spots, including being hit in the back of the head by a monitor and when she landed headfirst into the barricade following a suplex.
In the aftermath of the PPV, Bryan Alvarez of Figure Four Online (per a report from The Sun) revealed that Sane was being examined by WWE’s medical examiners under the suspicion that she suffered a concussion. Thankfully, new reports are suggesting that the injury may not be as bad as originally suspected.
The always reliable Tom Colohue (best known for his work at Sportskeeda and, well, us) took to Twitter to report some good news on Sane’s condition. The journalist was told that she “wasn’t there during checkup” but is thankfully “recovering well” from the injury scare.
Colohue added that the inaugural Mae Young Classic winner was “cheerful enough” backstage, if not “disappointed in herself.” He also adds that she will not be cleared to wrestle until a full assessment on her health is complete, but the good news at least is a good sign.
It is worth noting that WWE have yet to announce a direct report regarding Kairi Sane’s health as this is a developing story. We will have to wait and see, but this new news from Tom Colohue is at least reassuring until further updates are provided from either WWE or additional insider reports.
