WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Kairi Sane suffered an apparent concussion during the Kabuki Warriors’ successful title defense in the main event of TLC, and the company has taken her off live events for the rest of 2019 as a precaution.

The Women’s Tag Team Championships reached new heights at the TLC Pay Per View, as Kairi Sane, Asuka, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair main evented the show in a brutal Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the title.

Unfortunately, the brutality of the match yielded an injury, as Sane seemed to suffer a concussion during the match. While all the post-match updates on Sane are positive, it was scary to watch her wrestle through a brain injury.

According to PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson, WWE have pulled Sane from all live events for the remainder of 2019, which is a necessary precaution for the injured performer. While Sane showed amazing toughness during the match, it was troubling to watch her wrestle through the injury, and it’s clear the company needs to put her safety first as she recovers.

The live event at Madison Square Garden was supposed to have a steel cage match for the Women’s Tag Titles. Instead, Becky, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair will have a Raw Women’s Title Triple Threat match inside the steel cage. That should still be a great match, so fans will be more than entertained by these women inside the cage.

WrestlingNews.Co’s Paul Davis reports that people backstage believe Sane has suffered a concussion, and they will be extra cautious with the former NXT Women’s Champion due to her history of concussions.

Additionally, Sane reportedly received “tons of praise” from backstage personnel for her toughness, which comes as no surprise. She put in a memorable performance through injury, though WWE will, again, have to make sure something like this doesn’t happen to a performer.

Davis also reports that Becky Lynch received praise for calling the shots during the match and doing her best to keep Sane safe. Lynch has come into her own as a true ring general in WWe.
