This week on WWE NXT, we will witness a NXT Women’s Title match between the current champion, Shayna Baszler and the number one contender Rhea Ripley.

The Nightmare, Rhea Ripley deserves to come out of this match as the new WWE NXT Women’s Champion.

Now, it is no secret that Baszler has been having an extremely dominant reign as the current NXT Women’s Champion, as she has defeated every foe placed in her path, but Ripley must be the foe that Shayna Baszler just can’t pass.

Rhea Ripley has also been a dominant force in her own right since debuting in the WWE. She has faced some tough competition with the likes of Piper Niven, Bianca Belair, Mia Yim and Dakota Kai to name a few. Ripley even beat Toni Storm to become the first ever NXT UK Women’s Champion back in 2018.

Ripley held a dominant reign as champion for several months, before the gold was snatched away from her by Toni Storm at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool back in January of this year.

Rhea accomplished her goal of being the first ever woman to earn the NXT UK Women’s Championship (and remains the youngest woman to hold the title at the youthful age of 21). Since this is currently the greatest achievement possible for women on this brand, it only made sense for Ripley to make her way to WWE NXT to sought after new goals.

These new goals eventually put Shayna Baszler right in Ripley’s cross fires, as Ripley looks for a new milestone to cross in becoming the next NXT Women’s Champion.

The Nightmare has been nothing short of explosive since coming to NXT, where she even called out Shayna Baszler during her debut.

Ripley let The Queen of Spades know that she was gunning for the gold immediately by interrupting the current Women’s Champion during the Nov. 27, 2019 episode of NXT.

Baszler and Ripley have since battled it out in the ring a couple of times in their past, with Rhea coming out victorious over the champ in WarGames. Picking up this momentous win gives Ripley a boastful confidence, that is well deserved proven this win and that is very evident within the clip above.

If Rhea Ripley was able to gain a non-title match victory over the Queen of Spades once before, gaining a win during her title match opportunity should be an easy feat for The Nightmare.

This victory at NXT Takeover WarGames allowed Ripley to earn the right to fight for NXT in the Women’s Survivor Series match.  And at the end of that night, it was Ripley who had her hand held high by the referee, earning a point for NXT.

One phenomenal weekend is all it should take to prove how worthy Ripley is for holding the gold. Not only did The Nightmare pick up a win during NXT Takeover WarGames against Team Baszler, but the following night she again picked a win for Team NXT.

From all the action that occurred over the course of both NXT Takeover WarGames & Survivor Series, Rhea has shown the world exactly why the NXT Women’s Championship belongs around her waist.

Being able to accomplish such success in such a short period of time and still be able to perform exceptionally well after putting her body through so much torment shows exactly why Ripley deserves to win her match for the WWE NXT Women’s Championship this Wednesday on NXT.

Additionally, Rhea Ripley is a captivating character with a large fanbase, making her an even greater candidate to be the next NXT Women’s Champion. While Rhea Ripley is a character, she certainly comes off as being authentic. Everything about her comes off and feels real, which in turn helped create the massive fanbase that she has.

With this realistic and rebellious character, it would behoove the WWE to make Rhea the next champion. Not only would she be a fighting champion, but she could also bring an increase in sales because there are thousands of fans who love and look up to Rhea Ripley.

Rhea Ripley deserves to become the next NXT Women’s Champion, not only for herself, but also for her fans and the WWE Universe.

If nothing else, Ripley needs to beat Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship just to ensure that Asuka’s longest title reign as NXT Women’s champion stays intact.

Yes, The Queen of Spades has been dominating as champion this year, but her reign hasn’t come with much wow factor, as the crowd always knew she was likely to make her opponent go to sleep with her finishing submission move, the Kirifuda Clutch.

To be fair, if anyone were to beat Asuka’s longest title reign, Rhea Ripley would be the perfect wrestler as she has already provided similar tenacity as a competitor.

It’s time for Rhea to shine and show the WWE Universe exactly how much of a dominant champion she can be.
