Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy stole the show at the WWE TLC 2019 Pay Per View, and it looks like at least one of those two men is headed for a big push in 2020.

Former NXT Champion Aleister Black has been enjoying a fruitful first year on the WWE main roster in 2019. Black first made his mark as an NXT call-up in a tag team with fellow breakout star Ricochet, but he’s since more than come into his own as a singles star.

Black defeated Buddy Murphy at TLC 2019, hitting an absolutely vicious Black Mass – even by his high standards – to score the victory. Both Black and Murphy were riding a wave of momentum coming into this match, and they more than lived up to expectations by putting together a hard-hitting match of the highest order.

According to Sportskeeda’s Tom Colohue, we can expect to see more big things from Black in the near future.

He recently said this about Black on his TLC preview video:

"“Aleister Black is still looking to be getting a very strong push going forwards. I do think it won’t be too long before we see Black taking on people like Bray Wyatt. Although a Black Mass kick, a Black Mass kick to that Mask might not be the best idea. It’s not an easy phrase to say! Please don’t judge me!”"

Colohue’s humor always brightens my day.

But humor aside, it would be awesome to see a nice push for Aleister Black in 2020. A rivalry with Bray Wyatt has always been on the “dream list” since Black was in NXT, but now that Wyatt has kicked up his character work to another level with The Fiend, a match between Black and Wyatt would be even better. The build to the match could be out of this world.

Black certainly has a bright future on the WWE main roster, and fans will be excited to see him win his first main roster singles title next year. There’s no guarantee that push actually happens given how quickly things can change in WWE, but it’s safe to say Black has more than enough talent to make an impact in Raw’s upper mid-card scene.
