WWE Raw superstar Samoa Joe has not wrestled since September, but his return to the ring is reportedly ‘imminent’.

Samoa Joe has been out with a broken thumb, and WWE fans haven’t seen him in the ring since the Sept. 9 episode of Monday Night Raw when he competed in a Triple Threat match with King Corbin and Ricochet. At the time, King Corbin was simply a “Baron”, and the future King of the Ring winner won that Triple Threat match.

Wrestling fans have missed watching Joe in the ring, but they’ve certainly enjoyed his presence on commentary. He’s been a natural in the booth, offering precise insight on the psychology of the matches, forming a great one-two punch with Vic Joseph at the announce desk. (We don’t speak of Jerry Lawler, whom Joe and Joseph have done their best to ignore when he acts creepy.)

According to PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson, Joe’s return to the ring from his thumb injury is “imminent”.

In fact, Joe participated in some physical stuff at the pre-taped episode of Raw next week, so his return should indeed be right around the corner.

While wrestling fans will miss Samoa Joe being a saving grace on the Raw announce desk with Lawler back in the fold, Joe’s true talents are in the ring. He’s still one of the best wrestlers in the business, and his commentary work is only surpassed by his brilliance on the mic. Joe makes everything feel real, and fans always take him seriously regardless of his lack of world titles on the WWE main roster. There are levels to his game.

It’ll be great to see Joe back in the ring after missing so much time with a broken thumb, and we’ll all be on the edge of our seats, hoping for a great feud for the Samoan Submission Machine in early 2020 for Rumble Season.
