WWE superstars react to Rhea Ripley’s emotional title win
Rhea Ripley ended Shayna Baszler’s incredible 416-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion, and WWE superstars poured in the congratulations.
Arguably WWE’s MVP over Survivor Series weekend, Rhea Ripley pulled off improbable victories in the first ever Women’s WarGames match and the traditional Women’s 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination match against Raw and SmackDown.
Ripley then challenged Shayna Baszler, who defeated Bayley and Becky Lynch in a dream champion vs. champion vs. champion match in the Survivor Series main event, for the NXT Women’s Championship on Dec. 18 after gaining all that momentum.
And the first ever NXT UK Women’s Champion won. Ripley defeated the only two-time NXT Women’s Champion, hitting an Avalanche Riptide after SOMEHOW powering out of the Kirifuda Clutch. She dug down deep, grabbing the referee before getting to her feet with a flurry of energy that led to that wonderful Riptide.
It was an emotional win for Ripley, who had the entire NXT Universe screaming on their feet, begging for her to finally end Baszler’s dominant 416-day championship reign as the scariest wrestler in NXT.
The era of Rhea Ripley has now begun in the NXT Women’s Division, and the words of support poured in from all corners, including other wrestlers in the company.
First, Aleister Black had some wise words.
Commentator and former Rusev Day hype man Aiden English weighed in.
The IIconics offered heart-warming support to the new champion. Peyton Royce was so happy for Ripley she had multiple tweets!

Bayley knows we are all sheep, but we are merely following greatness.
Cathy Kelley isn’t a superstar, per se, but she is a superstar at what she does. So her thoughts definitely count.

Baszler had an amazing run, but now it’s time for Ripley to keep taking one of the most prestigious titles in wrestling to new heights. With the likes of Io Shirai, Bianca Belair, and Dakota Kai angling for a title, she’ll have no shortage of quality opponents.
But for now, it’s her time to soak in her moment of glory after one of the most memorable title wins in NXT history.
