Kofi Kingston recently informed fans on The New Day’s podcast that he signed a five-year deal with WWE, and his two teammates reportedly signed the exact same contracts with the company.

The New Day have been one of the greatest factions in WWE history, and after dominating the last half of the decade after forming, they are ready for another decade of greatness in the 2020’s.

The year 2019 was arguably the best one yet for the trio, as Kofi Kingston finally won a world title, which was a goal both Xavier Woods and Big E had for the legend since they joined forces in July of 2014.

Kingston’s WWE Title reign was amazing, and after losing the title to Brock Lesnar in an anger-inducing squash match on SmackDown, the living legend has more than recovered. He and Big E put on a sensational ladder match with The Revival at TLC, retaining the SmackDown Tag Titles after Kofi stood tall on the ladder with the belts in his hands for another great image to cap off a year of PPVs in 2019.

But if you want to hear a truly heart-warming story, Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin reported on FS1 show WWE Backstage’s “The Satin Sheet” segment that Xavier Woods and Big E also signed five-year contracts with the company. This news came after Kingston already told fans on The New Day’s “Feel The Power” podcast of his new long-term contract.

It gets better than that. Per Satin, all three members of The New Day asked for the same exact contract in order to show the world they are equals. They are all making multi-year deals worth the same amount of money.

Nobody beats the friendship or solidarity of The New Day. In real life and in storyline, E and Woods have shown they would do anything to help Kingston win the world title. And now, Kingston, despite being in the business for more than a decade and coming off a world title run, has taken the same contract as his teammates.

Next. Rhea Ripley should win the NXT Women's Championship. dark

Make no mistake, though, E and Woods are also very much world championship material. Fans are hoping WWE decides to give both men an opportunity to hold world title gold at some point in their careers, since they are also future Hall-of-Famers who are instrumental in making The New Day one of the best factions ever. So if they are all paid as equals, Woods and E are also deserving of world title runs. And hopefully, that comes to fruition.

It’s truly heart-warming how much The New Day care about each other. Their friendship is true friendship, and this real-life gesture is yet another example of how much these three men care about each other. They were meant to stick together as a unit
