Brock Lesnar returned to WWE with a vengeance in 2012. Since then he has provided a plethora of memorable moments and matches. The internet fans will never fully be fond of the beast. However, his impact should not be ignored or denied.

Hip Hop artist Drake once said “elevate, elevate, only obligation is to tell it straight.” I feel obligated to tell it straight and view this objectively. To measure the greatest of the decade, a multitude of things should be factored in. Star power, signature moments, accolades, and impact. All things considered, Brock Lesnar is the greatest WWE Superstar of the decade.

Many will attempt to nitpick at that assertion with things that are truly irrelevant. Fans will bring up his part time status as a way to disqualify him. Also, they like to assume Lesnar likes to bury their favorites.

Moreover, many like to bring up the fact that Brock Lesnar predominantly uses a few moves. None of those things are very relevant in the bigger picture. This once in a lifetime athlete should be appreciated.

Brock Lesnar has never lacked star power. In fact, he is a bigger star during this decade than he was in the past. By being a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, he now provides more legitimacy to WWE. Moreover when Brock wrestles it always means something. He evokes a strong emotional feedback from audiences all over.

The Beast is an underappreciated worker in the ring. A good worker is not 1000 moves and flips. A great worker is knowing how to emotionally manipulate inside that squared circle. It is precise timing. A great worker knows how to pace their matches and when to hit the high spots. It is knowing how to sell with the right facial expressions and actions.

Lastly, an elite worker knows how to make his opponent look good regardless of the outcome. The current WWE Champion checks all those boxes. Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio are the first few names that come to mind. Lesnar made them all look great with the stories they told. The list goes on, with Superstars like Finn Balor, John Cena, and CM Punk.

Throughout the decade Brock Lesnar has had too many high profile moments to keep up with. He ended The Undertaker’s Wrestlemania streak. The most organic and meaningful streak in pro wrestling history. Casual and hardcore fans were pissed off that he beat the streak. Now that is a great heel.

Summerslam 2014 was where he squashed John Cena to win the WWE Championship. The longest tenured face of the company got conquered. Two years later at Summerslam 2016, Lesnar victimized Randy Orton by leaving him lying bloody.

His accolades speak for themselves. The Beast Incarnate became a multiple time Universal and WWE Champion throughout the 2010’s. Furthermore, he has main evented multiple WrestleManias. The fact of the matter is that Brock Lesnar has been a staple for this era.

Next. WWE: Randy Orton’s current turn is uninspired and problematic. dark

Folks, you do not have to be a fan of this athlete. However, if one wants to be fair, it can’t be disputed that Brock Lesnar has had an impact that can’t be duplicated. He is a draw, puts others over, is marketable and most importantly, he gets everyone to passionately hate him like a real villain does.
