WWE fans have been behind Dana Brooke for more than a year now, and she may earn a future opportunity at Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Dana Brooke hasn’t been given many opportunities to impress in WWE. In fact, Charlotte Flair’s former protege has only received one title match in her entire main roster career thus far.

That title opportunity came in March on the Road to WrestleMania 35, as fans kept hashtagging #GiveDanaBrookeAChance until WWE finally booked her in a title match with the dominant Ronda Rousey. Now, it was obvious Brooke was going to get squashed by one of the most strongly booked champions in wrestling, as Rousey was on course to put over Becky Lynch big-time in the first women’s main event at WrestleMania.

But Brooke took her opportunity – and then some. She sold like crazy in her first televised match – Rousey’s first match in WWE was actually a dark match squash win on Raw over Brooke – and had some awesome promos and acting work around the match itself.

Now, to close 2019, Brooke is ready to have a real opportunity at a title.

After calling out SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley on social media, Brooke will be getting a singles match against The Hugger on the Dec. 20 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. This match comes after Brooke accepted her challenge and lost to Bayley on the Dec. 13 episode of the show, but she took to Twitter to say she wants one more shot.

And Bayley granted it.

There’s no guarantee Brooke gets a win, but she actually has a legitimate chance at pulling off the upset. Firstly, it’s a non-title match. Secondly, WWE 50/50 books things pretty frequently, so Brooke could even the score for a third match. One that would have the title on the line.

Regardless, this is another opportunity for Brooke to shine on television against one of WWE’s biggest stars this year and earn a chance at one of WWE’s most prestigious titles. Bayley, especially in her first title reign as a babyface, made it clear that she wants to elevate as many women on SmackDown as possible.

Brooke has impressed fans with her athleticism and ever-improving promos chops over the past couple of years. Heading into 2020, she’s at her best in every phase of the game and ready to pick up some more momentum. Friday night’s match is one you don’t want to miss, because it could be Brooke’s night to show wrestling fans she’s ready for a spotlight in 2020.
