WWE Royal Rumble 2020: 3 Possible Opponents for Bayley

1.) Lacey Evans

From a pro wresting-based standpoint, Lacey Evans and Bayley have fought in a spectacular match on SmackDown before, but it occurred when Evans was a heel and Bayley was a babyface. With the roles now reversed, the dynamics of their wrestling styles could create even more magic. Considering their recent scuffles, this championship match should have taken place at WWE TLC 2019, but it looks like this rivalry is most likely getting stretched to WWE Royal Rumble 2020.

From a business standpoint, she participated in the first ever women’s match in Saudi Arabia’s Crown Jewel this year. By putting her in a championship match against Bayley, it will show that Evans was not merely placed in a historical match with Natalya as a facade but rather as an essential component of the Women’s Division.

From a storyline standpoint, her Marine Corps background and ladylike finesse would mesh well against Bayley’s new, dark persona. Before WWE TLC 2019, Sasha Banks called Lacey Evans a Mary Poppins wannabe who is a terrible role model to her bratty young six year old daughter. However, as can be evidenced by her time in the United States Marine Corps, leadership is Evans’ forte and a battle with Bayley would become a war of leadership that could sufficiently weather the storm in the SmackDown Women’s Division.
