Sasha Banks

It is impossible to talk about the very beginnings of WWE’s Women’s Revolution without talking about the company’s resident Four Horsewomen and it is especially impossible to do so without highlighting Sasha Banks.

The very foundation of women’s wrestling in WWE as we know it today began in NXT. Of course, it started with the likes of Paige and Emma at the helm, but if you ask me when the Women’s Revolution truly received its much deserved spark of interest, it’s when Banks and Bayley tore down the Barclays Center with an instant classic at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. Why, by proxy, if it boils down to a match kicking off the women’s movement in stride, then surely, Bayley deserves a spot on the list as well (if not, in place of Banks here) and I totally understand that argument. However, what makes Banks eligible for this Mount Rushmore is what she’s done prior and since breaking out in NXT.

It was in NXT that she proved to excel both in character and in the ring exceptionally well years before her peers reached that same level. In time since, Banks has only improved to the point that she can be argued as the best wrestler on the roster today.

Yes, there is a stigma to her game when it comes to how she’s never successfully defended her belts despite being an inaugural Tag Team Champion and five time Women’s Champion, but what matters most is how she’s continued to improve as a wrestler.

When WWE need someone to have a great match against Ronda Rousey or anyone else, Banks is that go to gal every time without fail.
