WWE: Ranking the five best tag teams of the 2010’s
2. The Usos
It’s funny thinking about how well regarded and praised The Usos are as a tag team today compared to, say, five years ago when the wrestling community booed and criticized them heavily.
The Usos were always a great tag team. 2014-15 especially saw them have tremendous matches with teams like The Wyatt Family, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, Gold and Stardust and, yes, even The Ascension. Yet, the way fans viewed their characters hurt how The Usos were viewed as wrestlers. If it wasn’t for their happy go lucky attitude and colorful face paint, they were booed over their allegiances to Roman Reigns at the height of his vitriol from fans.
When The Usos turned heel and ditched the paint in favor of a much more rugged, hard edged persona that gave fans a reason to boo them, The Usos finally started to grow on fans. The more they had compelling matches with names like American Alpha, Gable and Benjamin, The Hardys and The Bar, it became impossible to deny their talent.
It was during their truly magnificent series of matches with The New Day in 2017 that fans started to consider The Usos beyond just the best tag team on WWE’s roster and, potentially, the best tag team in the world. Agree or disagree, they’re certainly deserving of the accolade.
