The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston

Lockup to start that Miz transitions into an arm wrench. Kofi turns it into a splash for a one count. Kofi gets a headlock before Miz leapfrogs over him, but Kofi monkey flips Miz in mid-air. Miz ignores a handshake attempt as the two continue to trade holds until Miz sends Kofi to the outside. Both men avoid dive attempts.

Miz signals another lockup attempt, but Miz instead kicks Kofi into the gut. Kofi tries to reverse with a Trouble in Paradise, but Miz blocks it. Kofi then kicks Miz away off a Figure Four attempt. Miz follows up with It Kicks and clotheslines, until Kofi finally kicks him away.

A double axe handle takes Miz down for a Boom Drop before Kofi signals for Trouble in Paradise. Miz ducks it, but Kofi dodges and reverses a bevy of offense from The Miz to hit a sudden roll up for the win. An angry Miz attacks Kofi after the match, but Big E runs him off. The Miz loses it up the ramp as fans chant that he sucks.

Winner: The Miz

Grade: C

Match itself felt rushed and too short (these two have had great matches in the past, I expected more to be honest), but the booking in showing how much The Miz is losing his mind is well executed, though that’s more deserving of props towards The Miz’s acting than the booking of the entire angle itself.

Backstage, Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns are interviewed by Cathy Kelley. Bryan says the biggest challenge for his Rumble match is potentially being mentally broken by The Fiend, but he has yet to be broken himself and promises to win the Universal Championship.

Roman Reigns announces he’s entering the Royal Rumble and if Bryan’s going into Mania with that title, then Reigns vows to win the Rumble and make Reigns vs. Bryan an official main event for WrestleMania.  Bryan promises he’s ready, but also says they oughta get ready for their tag match tonight.

Afterwards, Cathy Kelley knocks on The Miz’s door, but John Morrison opens it! Morrison says that now is a bad time for an interview. Kind of an anti-climactic way to re-debut Morrison (curious what no fans who’ve never heard/seen of John Morrison before thought of that) but hey, Morrison’s back!
