WWE: Kairi Sane returns to the ring after suffering concussion
One-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Kairi Sane has returned to the ring at a live event in Louisiana.
At WWE TLC 2019, Kairi Sane suffered an injury during the hard-hitting Women’s Tag Titles main event Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match between the Kabuki Warriors and the tag team of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Sane was concussed during the match, but she wrestled through it, as the women in the match were able to communicate with each other to avoid any further harm occurring to Sane. Still, it was uncomfortable for many fans to watch Sane go through this.
There were some worries about Sane’s injury status heading into the Royal Rumble Pay Per View next Sunday, but WWE were reportedly optimistic that she would be able to return to the ring before the show.
According to WrestlingNews.Co’s Andrew Ravens, Sane made her in-ring return on Jan. 17 at a WWE live event in Lafayette, Louisiana, competing in a six-woman tag match. Sane teamed up with partner Asuka and Sarah Logan, as they faced the trio of Natalya, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch.
The match in Lafayette came after Kairi Sane posted on Twitter earlier in the day that she would be returning, stating “I’m back. I love wrestling.”

It’s awesome to see that Sane has been cleared to compete. She will almost certainly be a part of the Women’s Royal Rumble match on Jan. 26 in Houston, as she was a standout in the match two years ago, memorably elbowing WWE Hall of Famer Lita.
Sane is a sleeper to win the Women’s Rumble to face Asuka at WrestleMania 36 in a Raw Women’s Championship match. While that’s highly unlikely and it’s more likely for Sane and Asuka to defend the Women’s Tag Titles at the Show of Shows, this possibility will have fans hooked for how Sane does inside the Rumble.
Regardless, what matters the most is that Sane is healthy. She and Asuka have done an incredible job as Women’s Tag Champs and have increased the prestige of the new titles.
