Jerry “The King” Lawler is saying Kelly Kelly may be returning to WWE on a semi-regular basis. Here’s five dream matches we’d like to see if she comes back.

Are we about to see more Kelly Kelly in 2020? WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler recently stated on his podcast that he spoke to the former Divas Champion before her Royal Rumble appearance, and she allegedly told him that she “may be coming back on a semi-regular basis.”

This development isn’t a huge surprise considering her involvement in the 2018 and 2020 Royal Rumble matches. Kelly also competed in the 2018 Evolution battle royal, and appeared on the special Raw Reunion episode last year to become the first female 24/7 Champion. A true icon!

Hypothetically speaking, the best part about Kelly’s return would be the fresh match-ups. Her run at the top of the Divas division in 2011-12 was highlighted by matches with primarily the same people such as Beth Phoenix, Eve Torres, Natalya, and The Bella Twins. Most of them have moved on to at least semi-retirement, meaning Kelly would be in the ring with new faces and, let’s be honest, a slightly higher level of competition.

Here are five opponents that Kelly Kelly should absolutely face if she returns this year.

Charlotte Flair

I’d be remiss to leave out arguably the biggest women’s star in WWE today in Charlotte Flair. Even though Kelly Kelly would be considered the “legend” in this dream match-up, they are actually both the same age at 33. However, Charlotte does have a five-inch height advantage over her.

We all know that Kelly isn’t a technical prowess in the squared circle, so putting her up against Flair would be a safe option, especially after watching Charlotte’s work against Trish Stratus at SummerSlam. This potential bout would be an intriguing clash of styles and personalities, too. Plus, the story writes itself as Charlotte eliminated Kelly Kelly from the 2020 Rumble on her way to victory.

If the booking powers were left in my control, I’d save this match for the end of Kelly’s run. In fact, I would have Charlotte revert back into a full-fledged heel with a mission to retire (or at least defeat) any legend that steps in her way. Flair has reached the point where she’s just about accomplished it all, so why not add more names to list of those who were forced to bow down to The Queen.
