Finishing maneuvers can mean everything to a WWE superstar, and the anticipation that builds before a finishing maneuver is often only surpassed by the shock when a superstar hits one from “out of nowhere”. Here are the top 10 finishing moves in 2020.

10. The Velveteen Dream: Purple Rainmaker

The Velveteen Dream has an awesome rolling Death Valley Driver that is probably the best iteration of the move ever done, but his true finisher – the Purple Rainmaker – is even more devastating.

It’s more than an elbow drop; it is absolutely violent. Everything Dream does to set up the move makes it feel that much more impactful. He plays to the crowd, ascends to the top rope, and stares his victim down before aiming the point of his elbow straight as his opponents’ head.

One day, the Velveteen Dream will be the biggest star in WWE, and the Purple Rainmaker will be the most feared finisher in the game.

9. Drew McIntyre: Claymore Kick

Drew McIntyre’s Claymore Kick has gotten a slight upgrade recently, as Brock Lesnar’s future WrestleMania opponent now counts to three before delivering the most vicious Claymores of his career to hapless opponents.

One of those hapless opponents turned out to be Lesnar, who was Claymored straight over the top rope in this year’s Royal Rumble. It was a shocking elimination that immediately put over McIntyre, who eventually won the match. Lesnar had been eliminating everyone in sight before McIntyre blasted him out of the ring.

The Claymore Kick is inventive, powerful, and can either be teased or done in an instant. It’s a perfect finisher for one of WWE’s top stars in 2020.
