AJ Styles and Aleister Black will have a rematch at WWE Elimination Chamber 2020, and The Undertaker will help Aleister exact revenge.

In February, WrestleZone.com’s Bill Pritchard reported that WWE has been planning a WrestleMania 36 match between AJ Styles and The Undertaker. This report was later confirmed by the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, piquing the interest of even more fans at seeing how this dream match would develop.

At one point, it seemed like WWE didn’t have any plans for Styles on the Road to WrestleMania. There were even worries that Styles could miss WrestleMania 36 entirely after reportedly separating his shoulder during the Royal Rumble match.

However, Styles is clearly on a path to facing The Undertaker at the Show of Shows, which is an event The Phenom has dominated throughout his career. Only Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have defeated Taker at WrestleMania, with Reigns’ win initially booked as a retirement match for the WWE icon.

But The Undertaker is still going strong. He most recently wrestled in Saudi Arabia at Super ShowDown, defeating five other men in a Gauntlet Match for an essentially meaningless trophy. The meaning behind the match, which Pritchard pointed out in his initial report, was Taker defeating Styles, who was his most formidable foe in the match, in a multi-man environment. Thus, the win planted a seed for a future singles match at WrestleMania.

On this week’s episode of Raw, Styles ended the undefeated streak of a wrestler who has been compared to The Undertaker in his mystique – and not just because of his own streak. And he did so directly after calling out Taker for a match at the Show of Shows.

Styles pinned Aleister Black after Black was presumably worn out by taking on Styles’ teammates Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. WWE has set up a No Disqualification match between Styles and Black at the Elimination Chamber, which should be Black’s opportunity to get his win back after losing his undefeated streak to the former two-time WWE Champion.

A No Disqualification match on the final Pay Per View before WrestleMania 36 would be the perfect time for The Undertaker to interfere and cost Styles against Black, who could also be a future ‘Mania opponent for Taker down the road.

For now, it looks like Styles is the match for The Phenom this year, and WWE are realllyyyy leaning in on this.

Check out what Styles did to Black while pinning him.

Styles quoted the tweet stating “Hit them so hard…it could wake the dead #Raw.”

So yeah. That’s definitely on the nose.

By getting involved, The Undertaker can both help Aleister get a big win over Styles after The Phenomenal One cheated by facing a severely weakened Aleister, who was beaten down by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows after running The O.C. Gauntlet.

Styles vs. Taker has about a month of build to work with, but it can feel special if Taker costs an impassioned Styles, who is frustrated by The Phenom’s Gauntlet win in Saudi Arabia. A major statement at WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 from The Dead Man is the only way to kick this feud into high gear and make it feel like a true WrestleMania dream match.

It must have been frustrating for some fans to see Black lose his streak on this week’s episode of Raw, but if Black gets his win back, then fans won’t be so upset at him losing to a living legend of the wrestling industry. And if it leads to a dream match between Taker and Styles at WrestleMania, then fans, especially those in attendance in Tampa, will be excited.
