WWE NXT TakeOver Tampa 2020 Predictions: Velveteen Dream Becomes Champion

WWE NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay 2020 will take place on Apr. 4 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT live at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida and on the WWE Network with the kickoff show beginning at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. The following will present some early match card predictions for this PPV.
BroserWeights (c) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans [NXT Tag Team Championships]
Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne, also known as The Broserweights, are scheduled to defend their NXT Tag Team Championships against The Undisputed Era next week on NXT. Since Grizzled Young Veterans attacked Riddle and Dunne after this NXT Tag Team Championship match was announced, they should be next in line for the NXT Tag Team Championships once Broserweights retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against The Undisputed Era.
Since Roderick Strong will most likely not be getting an NXT North American Championship shot at NXT TakeOver: Tampa, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish should not get NXT Tag Team Championship opportunities at this event either and should instead focus on helping Adam Cole retain the NXT Championship. There is no way O’Reilly and Fish should be winning the championships back and thereby no need for this championship match to be a triple threat amongst Broserweights, Grizzled Young Veterans, and Undisputed Era.
Out with the old and in with the Grizzled Young Veteran. A straight up tag team championship match between Broserweights and Grizzled Young Veterans would be an incredible throwback to the Dusty Rhodes Classic Finals and first-time bout on PPV. The Broserweights should retain the tag titles against Grizzled Young Veterans as well since they very recently won the championships from the Undisputed Era at NXT TakeOver: Portland in February.
The WWE Universe is enjoying the many babyface segments that feature the Broserweights and it would be too early to take the championships away from them. When the WWE Universe eventually gets bored with them, Pete Dunne can turn heel on Matt Riddle once he is fed up with his outlandish ventures and elicit a rivalry that could be featured in the main event scene of NXT and somehow lead them to successful singles careers as well as NXT gold in the future to come.
