WWE fans have been wanting to see a dream WrestleMania match between Sasha Banks and Bayley, but The Role Model knows it’s all about finding the time to tell the right story.

Sasha Banks and Bayley are two professional wrestlers who have already come to define an era in the sport. They fought in two of the most acclaimed matches in WWE history during their time in NXT, won the Women’s Tag Titles together inside the Elimination Chamber, and have brightened even our dreariest days over the past several years with their consistent greatness.

Fans have wanted to see Bayley and Banks rewarded for their incredible work by having a dream match at WrestleMania. After WWE teased a big match between them a couple of years ago, fans began to latch onto a WrestleMania 36 battle for the SmackDown Women’s Championship as the best chance of this happening.

Banks’ injury, which forced her out of the Royal Rumble, complicated things, and now WrestleMania’s future as a whole is in doubt. But at one point, Banks vs. Bayley did seem like a reality at the Show of Shows.

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, The Role Model spoke about a potential dream match with The Legit Boss at a future ‘Mania. And as many fans have brought up, she specifically noted that it’s important for the two living legends to be able to tell the right story in the build to the bout itself.

Here’s what Bayley said in the interview:

"“If we were put in that position, there is no way we would let that slip through our fingers. I do believe one day we will get the opportunity someday to have a match at WrestleMania.”“It would be pretty crazy to have a one-on-one match at WrestleMania, but you need the story behind it.  I would also love to include all the women on SmackDown. It’s kind of hard to say. I want to involve everyone, so bring them all to me. I’ll defend against all of them.”"

While some disappointed fans will see the lack of a WrestleMania title match between them this year as another example of WWE pulling the rug from underneath their favorite performers, others will likely feed off Bayley’s optimism. She believes she and Banks will get their chance to blow the world away on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and, more likely than not, most of the Boss’N’Hug Connection’s fans will keep this belief.

A SummerSlam match between Bayley and Banks could be in play in Sasha’s hometown of Boston this year, but the interview makes it clear that The Role Model has her eyes on WrestleMania. And she absolutely should. It’s the biggest stage in wrestling for a reason, and Banks and Bayley, to be honest, should be main eventing the show at least once in their careers. Actually, scratch the “should”. It’s a MUST.
