WWE Raw: We’d love to see Seth Rollins vs. Ricochet

WWE Raw superstar Seth Rollins is no stranger to Twitter wars, but he got into a more friendly back-and-forth with Ricochet. Could we see them feud on Monday nights soon?

At WrestleMania 36, Seth Rollins will face Kevin Owens in what will be one of WWE Raw’s most anticipated singles matches at the Show of Shows. It doesn’t have a title on the line like Becky Lynch vs. Shayna Baszler or Drew McIntyre, nor does it have more than a decade of history to it like Edge vs. Randy Orton. But in a lot of ways, Rollins vs. Owens feels like a show-stealer with its own rich history.

Last week on Raw, Rollins waxed poetic again, telling Owens how everyone in NXT owes their success to him. Rollins was an early star on the brand after signing from Ring of Honor, becoming WWE NXT’s first male champion on July 26.

Ricochet had some fun with Rollins’ promo last week, tweeting a sarcastic “thank you” to the Monday Night Messiah for holding his ladder years ago in the independent scene when The One and Only did an INSANE flip off the ladder.

The former North American Champion added, “You used to be such a nice dude, why are you acting like a real butthead now bro?”

Rollins responded with a quote tweet, and then came up with this gem in the replies.

The Monday Night Messiah, aka creator of NXT, is always speaking the truth! (Rolls eyes.)

After Rollins faces Owens at WrestleMania, which seems destined to be KO’s first WrestleMania moment, the former Universal Champion could be in line for a different feud. A returning Samoa Joe could make sense as a rival, but wouldn’t you love to see Ricochet vs. Rollins in a rivalry? Or even just a one-off match?

Rollins and Ricochet have been two of the best wrestlers in the business over the past several years, and their athleticism and experience – including experience against each other – could make for a magical match.

Although Ricochet isn’t known for his promos, a program with Rollins could help The One and Only crack the shell around him just a little bit more. A standout from NXT in his own right, Ricochet has plenty of potential, regardless of what happened at Super ShowDown in February.

This back-and-forth will probably amount to nothing, but I’d love to see Ricochet vs. Rollins materialize at some point in 2020. If enough fans show interest, then maybe Paul Heyman can make it happen. He does seem to be high on Ricochet as an underdog.
