Before John Cena ever puts his WWE carer on hold, there are a few dream matches we think he should make some room in the tank for first.

The ending to his Funhouse match at WWE WrestleMania led some on social media to debate if it could (or should) signal the end of John Cena’s career, as a way to write him off with one big finale crescendo.

As much of a wondrous career that John Cena has led thus far over the course of nealry 20 years worth of dominance, there are still some dream matches we want to see him commit to before he rides off into the sunset for good. Speaking of dreams, let’s start with the first dream opponent on our list: The Velveteen Dream.

The Velveteen Dream

Obviously, we can’t talk dream matches without talking about The Dream himself. Someone who Cena for a number of years now has pegged as the future of this business. And what did John Cena tell us way back in 2016 at the dawn of the New Era? “The future must go through me.”

I am certain that The Dream is fully prepared to go right through John Cena and emerge as the company’s next top star.
