3.       Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma Talk Show

If I were to tell you that an hour and a half of Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma is one of the funniest things on New Japan World, most of you probably wouldn’t believe me. However, it’s true.

Despite Togi Makabe’s usually very stern and serious persona in the ring as the Unchained Gorilla and the whole issue with Honma’s voice, the talk show hosted by GBH is honestly one of the best things I’ve seen. Both men are uncharacteristically charismatic and have this natural chemistry with each other that can probably be rivaled by very few which comes from years of history in and out of the ring. There were no rules or structures and this just added to the authenticity and enjoyability of it all.

As expected, the show starts with chaos. Togi Makabe tries to introduce himself and say some wise words but Honma keeps interrupting his best friend by getting into the camera shot. Whether it was by accident or on purpose is something I wouldn’t want to say without Honma’s side of the story.

Throughout the show, we have the two Great Bash Heel members answering some of your problems whether it was on the topic of school, love, the future, and even wrestling. Some of the biggest questions were answered like what the two’s favourite food is (Answer: Makabe likes anything sweet and Honma likes chicken).

For me, it was such an easy watch and brightened up my day. It got to a point where my mouth hurt from smiling and laughing so much. Basically, it just feels like you’re watching a comedy show or watching a married couple for 90 minutes. Who wouldn’t want to watch that?
