AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and Rey Mysterio are immediately eliminated from consideration, because they are legends of the wrestling business who would not benefit significantly from winning the briefcase. They are just involved to help make the match exciting and give it stability for the less experienced wrestlers in the match.

King Corbin could win the briefcase and have a successful cash-in after his embarrassing attempt on Jinder Mahal three years ago, but who really wants to see “The King” cut more childish promos as the MITB contract holder? I could do without it.

Aleister Black qualifies as a rising star, but what about Black’s “Knock on my door and let me kick your lights out!” gimmick makes it seem like he’d be an opportunistic cash-in guy? It just doesn’t fit with him.

So that leaves Otis. A babyface everyone can get behind, a potential cash-in from Otis could be incredible. Fans have loved his storyline with Mandy Rose and are eager to see what’s next for both, as Mandy has already been tabbed as a future champion.

Otis doesn’t seem like he has future championship potential, but a strong run with the briefcase can convince any lingering doubts within WWE. And even if he loses his cash in, there are ways to make it so heartbreaking that Otis ends up benefiting in the long run, using the compounded sympathy to actually make a real run at a world title. When it comes to upside and quality of segments, Otis stands out as a man who could benefit greatly from a career-altering WWE MITB 2020 win.
