WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon is high on this MITB sleeper pick
According to the latest WWE Rumors, Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is quite the fan of Otis, which shouldn’t come as a surprise.
On Sunday, WWE will broadcast Money in the Bank 2020, and Otis will be one of the six men competing for the briefcase alongside Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio, Aleister Black, AJ Styles, and King Corbin.
Otis is by far the least recognizable name of the six and is thus the definition of a sleeper, as many fans don’t see him as a serious threat to win the match.
However, maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss a man who would benefit from a win more than anyone else.
According to the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, via WhatCulture.com’s Andy H. Murray, Vince McMahon himself is a fan of Otis and likes his character. Furthermore, Meltzer adds that Vince is now likely responsible for most of the segments involving Mandy Rose and Otis, given that the wonderful writer who created this popular storyline, Andrea Listenberger, is no longer with the company due to WWE’s heartless releases.
It should come as no surprise that Vince is a big fan of Otis. The storyline with Mandy has been easily SmackDown’s most popular in 2020, and it has led Rose to step closer to true stardom on the Blue Brand.
As for Otis, the increased popularity has made him a great babyface and has put him in a position to compete in the prestigious Money in the Bank ladder match with legends like Mysterio and Bryan flanking him.

Otis stands little chance at winning, but could you imagine him holding the briefcase in segments with Rose? He would be an even bigger babyface with this win, and it would be interesting to see how he’d plot his cash-in.
Don’t rule it out either, because if Vince is high on him and wants to keep pushing Otis and the storyline, he may have already decided to go for it.
