WWE Money in the Bank 2020: 3 reasons why Asuka should win
The story with Becky Lynch isn’t over
Becky Lynch and Asuka began their rivalry at TLC 2018 when Asuka won the title in the show’s main event, as Ronda Rousey costed Lynch her SmackDown Women’s Title – a title that has always been dear to her since she was its first champion.
Then, Asuka and Lynch had an absolute banger at the Royal Rumble. A full year later, they topped that at Royal Rumble 2020 in Houston, with Lynch finally defeating one of her greatest rivals.
Asuka nearly had another chance to beat Lynch, but the debuting Shayna Baszler ruined The Empress’ opportunity, putting her own self on a path to a WrestleMania match with Lynch.
Becky won that bout, and she is now waiting for her next challenger, with her eyes fully focused on this Money in the Bank match.
Asuka is one of the favorites, and the thought of The Empress winning the briefcase and toying with Becky is incredible. Her mind games are already a highlight, but they would be next-level, especially with all the emotions bound to come through in this feud.
The Asuka/Becky story may not be over yet, and even if Asuka doesn’t cash in on her, the story can still play out over the course of months.
