WWE SmackDown Grades: Mandy Rose has to be enraged
The final episode of WWE SmackDown before the Money in the Bank Pay Per View had plenty of highs, so let’s hand out some grades from the show.
WWE SmackDown completed the build toward Sunday’s Money in the Bank Pay Per View, but which segments did the best job of hyping up the matches or continuing storylines that will return next week after the PPV?
Here are grades for each of the major segments from Friday Night SmackDown, with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville standing as the biggest stars of the show.
Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville
Sonya Deville defeated Mandy Rose with a surprise roll-up after a fiery match that made every second of its roughly eight minutes count. Rose vs. Deville is undoubtedly the best feud on WWE SmackDown right now, with all respect to Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt for the Universal Title.
This match showcased Deville’s trash-talking and ground game, and it was an absolute fight. When Rose turned the tables, you could feel the tension rising, but it was not to be for the babyface.
Deville winning was definitely the right call, and Rose has to be enraged with how she lost this match. She’ll need to regroup next week, because her fight with Deville is far from over. The nature of this loss will light a fire under Mandy, though, in terms of performance, this week was Deville’s time to shine.
The promos from both women before the match were also good, highlighting how well-rounded these two co-debuting competitors in late 2017 have become.
Grade: A+
