Watching Sonya Deville wrestle is amazing

WWE fans who have watched her career on the main roster – and even in NXT, such as during her final feud with Ruby Riott – know that Sonya Deville has always had the ability to be a star at the next level.

Her rivalry with Mandy Rose, which has been a LONG time coming, has already showcased that star power. Both women are future world champions in their own right, but there’s something extra special about Deville.

This Friday night, Deville showed it. Before the match, she told Dolph Ziggler that she wouldn’t make any promises about ruining Mandy Rose’s phase. That got a chuckle out of me.

And in the ring, she was great. Deville and Rose, unfortunately as is usually the case for women in WWE, had less than 10 minutes to make their match work. They absolutely made the most of it with a breathtaking encounter that took advantage of all the emotions running high in the match.

But what I loved the most was Deville’s trash-talking. It was top-notch. She was goading Mandy, talking about how this was too easy for her, and even telling the ref how much she felt bad for Mandy being in this match.

Of course, it all nearly backfired, and Deville had to scramble to steal a victory. And that worked out perfectly, since, you know, she’s the heel. She is dominant, but her arrogance briefly caused her to underestimate her determined foe.
