After a shocking opening to WWE Raw, we have a new Raw Women’s Champion! Who should be first in line to challenge Asuka for the title?

Few could’ve guessed what would happen when news broke earlier today that then-Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch would be making an announcement tonight on WWE Raw, but the entire landscape of the Raw Women’s Division has now shifted. After a record-setting and historic 398-day reign as champion, Becky Lynch vacated the title so she can step away from the ring to be a mother.

The Man is gonna be a mom, which is amazing news and we wish her only the best, but that also means there’s a new champion. It was revealed that the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match wasn’t just for a contract, it was for the Raw Women’s Championship itself, which means Asuka is the new Raw Women’s Champion.

All of a sudden things look very different on WWE Raw, and there’s an all-new behemoth at the top of the brand’s women’s division. Being champion means there will automatically be a target on the back of Asuka, but who should be the first to take aim at the new champion?

Shayna Baszler

There may be no more obvious choice than “The Queen of Spades” Shayna Baszler. While a few things haven’t gone quite her way since arriving on WWE Raw, Shayna Baszler has been dominant at nearly every turn. She got off to a powerful beginning by demolishing the competition inside the Elimination Chamber, including last eliminating Asuka to earn the right to face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 36.

Unfortunately for Baszler, The Man got the best of her at WrestleMania, but now she’s got an opportunity to take the title she so desires from someone she’s proven herself capable of defeating. Taking down Asuka would be no easy task, but these two previously dominant and record-setting NXT Women’s Champions could push each other to new heights while both at full strength.
