Becky Lynch tearfully announced to the wrestling world on WWE Raw that she will be taking time off to become a mother, as Asuka’s Money in the Bank victory was really a Raw Women’s Title win.

Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin first reported that Becky Lynch would be making a major announcement on WWE Raw, leaving wrestling fans guessing and speculating. Then, PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson confirmed Becky would be relinquishing the Raw Women’s Championship to Money in the Bank winner Asuka.

And to kick off the show, Lynch was in tears, telling fans she would have to leave wrestling for some time, thanking the fans for everything. She then informed Asuka that The Empress’ Money in the Bank win was really a Raw Women’s Championship win. In a wholesome moment, Becky told Asuka to be a warrior, because she would be leaving to be a mother.

Later in the show, Asuka was interviewed by Charly Caruso, and while this moment wasn’t quite as tearjerking, it was definitely wholesome. It helped pick up our spirits even more on the most wholesome episodes of WWE Raw in recent memory.

This was the moment Kairi Sane, who is Asuka’s tag team partner, found out her best friend won the Raw Women’s Championship.

No jealousy here. Only the most incredible, lovely celebration between two friends who have been through huge battles together, including TLC 2019’s main event for their prestigious Women’s Tag Team Titles.

While some fans will continue to wonder if Sane and Asuka could face each other at some point later in 2020, most of us will hold onto this beautiful celebration. It was awesome watching Asuka run around as champion and then congratulate Becky earlier in the show, and it was also awesome seeing how The Empress has such a supportive friend in The Pirate Princess.

Next. Becky Lynch relinquishing the title was bittersweet. dark

Now more than ever, we could all use a truly supportive friend like Kairi Sane.
