WWE Backlash 2020: 5 possible opponents for Bayley
Bayley successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Tamina at Money in the Bank, but who will await her at WWE Backlash 2020?
Now several months into her incredible second reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bayley’s opponent for WWE Backlash 2020 is totally up in the air. Now, that means it becomes even more fun to try and guess who she’ll be facing after defeating Tamina in a one-on-one title match at Money in the Bank.
With the new wild card rule in effect, here are five possible opponents for The Role Model at WWE‘s next Pay Per View on June 14.
Lacey Evans
I’ll get this one out of the way quickly, because Lacey Evans is the opponent most people want to see the least. That actually has little to do with fans disliking her as a babyface, because there are logical reasons for Evans not being the best opponent at WWE Backlash 2020 for Bayley.
Firstly, Evans isn’t winning the title. It’s not happening. Bayley has been built up too much to lose the title to someone she’s faced so many times and whom the WWE Universe is still warming up to. Evans isn’t ready to win a championship yet. She’s improving, but she still has a ways to go.
So does WWE really want to have Evans, a rising babyface whom they are building up slowly, lose another match to Bayley? Probably not. Unlike, say, Liv Morgan, she’s not nearly good enough in the ring to get over in a loss.
She is a possible opponent for Bayley, though, on the off chance Vince McMahon screws up and decides to take the title off Bayley before her feud with Sasha Banks. With the way Evans has been pushed, it’s hard to rule her out of this match completely.
