Becky Lynch stepping away creates new opportunities, but will the WWE Raw Women’s roster be up for the challenge to step up while she is away?

‘The Man’ is about to have a baby, and until she returns, the landscape of both Raw and WWE as a whole, in general, will be altered drastically. Becky Lynch changed her character at SummerSlam 2018 when she attacked Charlotte Flair after the latter won the match and the SmackDown Women’s Title from Carmella.

The women’s division was already a hot topic, but Becky Lynch took it to another level with her new demeanor when the former Raw Women’s Champion became ‘The Man.’

The Man became one of the hottest terms in the pro-wrestling business, and everyone, as well as everything, revolved around her. It became the biggest buzzword and the fans were completely behind the character.

The Man was so confident in her character that she became the champion soon after and was the top draw for SmackDown as she was not only the first draw for the blue brand, but later became the first overall pick during the WWE Draft. The build-up with Ronda Rousey that started on the road to Survivor Series was a great way to establish her character and despite the punch from Nia Jax, the world was still talking about her.

She was a part of the main event at WrestleMania 35 and went on to become the unified Women’s Champion at the shows of shows. A year later, now, she is out to start her own family, which The Man delivered news of on the last Monday Night Raw. This departure has set an unprecedented opportunity for the superstars on Raw, and let’s take a look at who could benefit from it:

Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow was the first one to reap the fruits of this announcement as the Raw Women’s Championship was handed over to her by the former champion. She fought long and hard through the Corporate Headquarters to win the Money In The Bank briefcase for a future title shot and it was handed over to her this week, but does it benefit her twice?

She already has the title in her grasp, but if she gets to cash in the briefcase on the next champion, then it would be a great story.
