By Mark Justice
WWE Backlash 2020 will take place on June 14, 2020 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT live on the WWE Network with the kickoff show beginning at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT. The following will provide early match card predictions for this historic PPV.
Backlash! This is the PPV where AJ Styles and Jinder Mahal won their first WWE Championships and where Becky Lynch won her first SmackDown Women’s Championship. Although the name of this PPV symbolizes revolt, its past booking decisions proves otherwise.
As for this year’s Backlash PPV, the WWE’s official website indicates that the following bouts have already been officially announced:
"Greatest Wrestling Match Ever Edge vs. Randy Orton WWE Championship Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Bobby Lashley"
Without further ado, the following will provide early match card predictions WWE Backlash 2020, starting with a Women’s Tag team Championship rematch between Bliss Cross Applesauce and the beloved IIconics.
Bliss Cross Applesauce (c) vs. IIconics [Women’s Tag Team Championships]
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Bliss Cross Applesauce retained the Women’s Tag Team Championships via disqualification against the returning IIconics. There were rumors that IIconics would be repackaged, but they returned the same way they left.
Nonetheless, due to the inconclusive finish of this title match, a championship rematch should be in store for these tandems at WWE Backlash 2020. The IIconics teased a breakup after failing in their opportunity to capture the Women’s Tag Team Championships for a second time.
However, they quickly made up and there could be a plot twist, in which IIconics defeat Bliss Cross Applesauce due to miscommunication between Bliss and Cross. This could instead cause an unexpected breakup between Bliss and Cross on the road to SummerSlam while IIconics win back the championships Bliss Cross Applesauce took from them on Raw in August 2019.
Prediction: IIconics
